Antibiotics for Poultry

Composition:

Each 100 g contains:
Colistin (as Colistin sulphate)             480`000`000 I.U.

Properties and mode of action:

• It is a bactericidal narrow spectrum polypeptide antibiotic acting through disruption of the structure of cell membrane phospholipids and disruption of cell permeability
• Binding the lipopolysaccharides (LPS, endotoxin) through direct interaction with the anionic lipid A region. This action neutralizes the endotoxin capacity of LPS of Gram negative bacteria .

Indication:
• Highly active against many species of Gram negative organisms, such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
• An ideal drug for treating a variety of the gastrointestinal tract infections
• It is a highly selective antibiotic for prevention and treatment of infectious enteritis caused by Gram-ve bacteria especially Salmonella, E. coli, Pseudomonas, Shigella, Heamophilus and Aerobacteria in poultry.

Dosage and administration:
For oral administration via drinking water.
20 g / 1000 Kg body weight for 3 - 5 days.
1 g / 5 L drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
