Antibiotics for Poultry

Composition:
Each 1 g contains:
Streptomycin (As streptomycin sulphate)                     820 mg

Properties and mode of action:
• Broad spectrum bactericidal- Aminoglycoside antibiotic
• The antibacterial action is directed primarily against Gram-negative bacteria and some Gram positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus.
• Binds to the 30S ribosomal sub-unit and cause a misreading of the genetic code, interrupting normal bacterial protein synthesis. This leads to changes in the cell membrane permeability, resulting in additional antibiotic uptake, further cell disruption and ultimately, cell death.

Indications:
A powerful effect against many Gram negative bacteria especially E. coli and Salmonella.

Dosage and administration:
Sterile soluble powder for intramuscular injection
The vial containing 100 g should be reconstituted in 500 ml solvent
Poultry: 0.5 ml / 1 Kg body weight
